Happy 36th to me
We traded our old car, Mystique for a Dodge minivan today. We were not approved for a brand-new van cos our credit profile was still new and because we shopped around a lot from car dealers in the last couple of weeks, which can bring down credit scores.
Luckily, there were two dealers that approved us - Ford and Chrysler. We turn down Ford because we didn't find a van that we like in their lot. Second, Chrysler had a better offer, extra freebies like free change oil as long as we own the van. We haggled with the finance manager for a low bi-weekly payment, giving us the best value for our buck.
On the night of August 26th, we bid goodbye to the old Ford. So far, the van works great in terms of comfort and driving. We added a bumper-to-bumper extended warranty, so I think we made a pretty good decision.
On the eve of my birthday, my nephew and sister sang me a happy birthday through video chat. Nephew greeted me over and over like he didn't believe I have a birthday.
He and I had been chatting for a while. He is turning four this 20th of October.
He usually ask his mom to chat with me. He would click on the mouse and call me over yahoo messenger and type random characters on the keyboard. He thought that typing away and seeing my reply means we're communicating.

Sometimes, he would use smileys like kisses, wave, unhappy and happy. Now he can type Hi, his name, number 1 to 10 and milk. The other day, he was chatting with me and hubby and showed us he can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in a finger keyboard. He is very smart. I don't know any other 4-year-old who can count and read numbers from 1 to 1000 in his age.
After midnight, hubby came home with a smile on his face. Puzzled, I asked what's going on, then he brought out a gift bag and two birthday cards. It's his second surprise this week and I was greatly overwhelmed.
When we woke up that morning, the phone rang, everybody started greeting me.
Thank you for the advance and late greetings. I appreciate everyone for taking the time to remember me.
It's important for our loved ones to hear from us even with a simple line like "Happy Birthday". If we take time to pray, visit our loved ones who passed away, what can't we do that for the living?
Thank you...
1. my wonderful husband
2. sister and nephew, Onemig
3. bestfriend, Rachel (Thanks for buying a webcam so we could chat today. For waiting for hours so could finally see each other online and introduce your family over webcam. Thanks to your dad.)
5. my brother, and niece, Jam, Ian's parents (Thank you for the calls and cards you sent), sis in law, Vel and nieces, Abby and Andy
Today was super special because of you my friends and family.
We didn't make any plans that day. After a couple of hours just lying around, we decided to go to Manitoba Museum, exactly 3 hours before closing time. The museum was unbelievable. I got to see stuffed animals, preserved insects, I've never known existed, including a one-foot giant mosquito.
Then we went to Thunder Rapids Fun Park and drove a 9-horsepower motor kart.
We also tried the batting cage. And it was f***ing hard. Below photo, Allan enjoying himself.
He did 3 rounds, 60 pitches each round. He hit most of the balls, I had 10 pitches, and I only hit 1. So, I guess you can say, I really suck.

Thank you, God for another great birthday!
